Project All Together
All Together, All Under One Roof
In 1988, we congregated in a simple office space and dreamed of creating a Temple that reflected our mission and aspirations. From our 30 founding families to our 900 families today, we created a community that radiates love, builds connections, and responds to the individual needs of our congregants. Architects Ken Neumann (z”l) and Joel Smith translated our congregation’s mission and the vision of our founder, Rabbi Dannel Schwartz, into brick and mortar, a home where we have been able to accomplish the traditional three-fold purpose of the synagogue: A house of study, a house of prayer, and a house of meeting, designed to share our warmth of heart and spirit. Unlike any other holy structure of the 21st century, every architectural detail within the public spaces of Shir Shalom was inspired by the meaning and design of the Torah.
Our new addition will complete this Torah scroll and each architectural feature and detail will continue to blend form and function with symbolism and purpose. In doing so, we will create meaningful spaces for all of our temple family… preschoolers to religious school students to lifelong learners… all under one roof. We will also ensure existential survival through the technology of our times. We have been through a crisis of health and faith. We now know that it’s not just about being here in person. It’s about connecting and finding ways for our community to come together as one.
